Let's liven up the town starting from Fukuyoshi Cafe!

information

We have a mission to revitalize our community.
I want you to get to know Fukuyoshi better, so let me start with an introduction.

Fukuyoshi Cafe's concept is "a cafe that will make you love Asahikawa even more." The current menu consists of cafe items such as Japanese-themed drinks, parfaits, and soft serve ice cream, as well as food items such as curry and skillet lunches, and "Tokiwa-yaki," which is like a croissant taiyaki.

The shop is housed in a renovated historic building, the "Former Kitajima Flour Mill," built in 1924. The first floor serves as a dining area, a grilling area, and a kitchen, while the second floor is used as a creative office. The kitchen and grilling area are equipped for both restaurant operations and confectionery manufacturing, and are used for the dough shaping, filling, and baking processes of their signature product, "Tokiwa-yaki."

Our operating style is a counter-order eat-in cafe. Customers enter the store, come to the counter to place their order and pay in advance, and then wait at a table. Once the food is ready, a staff member will bring it to your table. After customers finish their meal, the staff will clear the table and prepare it for the next customers. Most menu items other than parfaits are available for takeout.

Fukuyoshi Cafe is operated by a marketing company, and the cafe staff belong to the company's "Marketing Practice Office." As the name suggests, it is a place to implement customer-oriented initiatives. Adhering to the three principles of restaurants—service, quality, and cleanliness—they strive to provide a user experience that makes people "love Asahikawa even more" through products, prices, serving methods, and promotions based on their concept.

......

The cafe staff comes from a wide range of age groups, including high school students, vocational school students, university students, housewives, and retirees looking for new jobs. Several staff members have been working there since the cafe opened, and they seem to enjoy chatting with regular customers.

On the other hand, our customers are diverse, ranging from young to old, both inside and outside Asahikawa, and we also have many international tourists. During peak season weekends, we serve over 300 customers a day. Our international customers are mainly tourists and skiers from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Australia, and the United States. We have menus available in English, and our staff are actively communicating with them.

Customers and staff

First and foremost, it's crucial to "love Asahikawa," which is also the core concept of our company. Surprisingly, locals don't often say they love Asahikawa. If you're confident you can learn to love Asahikawa, we warmly welcome even those with no prior connection to the city. Many of our employees are from outside Asahikawa, and we consider attracting talented individuals to Asahikawa to be an important mission.

Next is humility towards work. A desire for personal growth and self-improvement through work is essential. Furthermore, strong communication skills are necessary to provide the best possible experience to customers as a team. The ability to calmly consider things from the other person's perspective and to be considerate is also necessary. Finally, being healthy in both mind and body is a crucial factor that directly impacts the workplace atmosphere.

With a declining population and a shrinking economy, I was always bothered by the fact that people in Asahikawa would say, "There's nothing in Asahikawa." I wanted to create a place that everyone would be proud of, so I started Fukuyoshi Cafe Asahibashi Main Store, using Asahibashi Bridge, historical architecture, Tokiwa-yaki, and Fukuyoshi Latte as our selling points.

Most people probably imagine a cafe as a place where time flows slowly. However, Fukuyoshi Cafe aims to become a representative local resource of the town, like Asahikawa ramen or Asahiyama Zoo, so it's a fast-paced environment where our ambitious staff work together wholeheartedly, cherishing every minute, second, and encounter.

Fukuyoshi Cafe's expansion strategy is not based on multi-store development or individual store ownership, but rather on a regional approach, with its flagship store at the center. The goal is to create a new tourist destination in the Joban area, where residents and tourists can interact and experience the history and culture of Asahikawa.

We welcome applications from those who share our ambition to make Asahikawa a "profitable region."

profile

Born in Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture in 1978. While serving as the deputy editor-in-chief of the Asahikawa information paper "Liner," he planned "Fukuyoshi Latte," a collaborative drink between a bean paste company and a long-established tea shop in Asahikawa. After conducting test marketing at product exhibitions in Taiwan and domestic trade shows, he established a marketing company in 2015 and opened Fukuyoshi Cafe Asahibashi Main Store in March of the following year.
